The date added to the cornice affirms that the carved living room portal in merchant H\u00f6ppner\u2019s house was completed in 1681. The carvings have been ascribed to Christian Ackermann. The work was completed in cooperation between a sculptor, a cabinetmaker, a house painter, and a locksmith (the door hinges and its lock system).
