The retable of the Märjamaa Church

Similarly to Järva-Madise Church (on the left), the top of the Märjamaa Church retable (on the right) was also decorated with a flower garland and a corbel in the shape of an angel’s head with spread wings.

The baroque retable of the Märjamaa church, carved by Christian Ackermann, which had a shape exceptional for retables in Estonia, was destroyed in the Second World War.
