The close examination of the figures of the door portals indicates that they had originally been high reliefs. A wooden block was later added to the rear side of these reliefs so that they could be carved out from behind as a sculpture that is almost in the round. It appears that at the same time, or later, the feet of the figures had also been renewed – once again by adding a wooden block and carving it out.
